Frequently Asked Questions about The New York Sightseeing Pass

How do I activate my Sightseeing Pass?

Once you visit your first New York City attraction and use your pass for admission, it instantly becomes activated.

Does the ferry ticket include entry into the Statue of Liberty?

No, sorry. Access to the pedestal and crown of the Statue of Liberty is not included with your pass ferry ticket. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island roundtrip ferry tour is not offered for Flex Passes.

Is the Ellis Island Immigration Museum a separate attraction?

No. With a Day Pass, entry to the Ellis Island Immigration Museum is included with the Statue of Liberty Grounds ticket only. The Sightseeing Pass grants you a grounds ticket aboard Statue Cruises to Liberty Island and Ellis Island.

Does every attraction require reservations?

Many, but not all, of NYC attractions require reservations. Upon arrival at the attraction, you'll be given the next available entry time. It is best to check each attraction's requirements on the Sightseeing Pass app in advance. Making a reservation will not activate your pass.

How long is the Flex Pass valid for?

Flex Pass will be valid for 60 consecutive days from the time it is activated. You have 12 months starting from the date of purchase to activate your pass.

How does the Day Pass work?

For the Day Pass, you’ll select the number of days you plan to spend sightseeing in New York City. Within your chosen number of days, you can visit as many attractions as you like.

Does the Day Pass have any time restriction between visiting each attraction?

Yes, it does. Please wait for at least an hour between each attraction visit because your Day Pass will not grant you access to your next site unless this has been observed.

Can I visit the same NYC attraction more than once?

No, sorry. Passes are only valid once at each tour and attraction.

Is the hop-on-hop-off bus tour included in my pass?

If you select the Day Pass, the 1-day Big Bus Essential Ticket is automatically included in your pass. However, if you choose a Flex Pass and want to take the Hop-on Hop-off bus, it will count as one of your attractions.
